More bug problems!!!

OK sorry I have not updated the dirt or this journal.

I think I am going crazy. I am about to become a complete neurotic about insects and little bugs.

Now that the roach problem is handled.... there are bugs in my room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not know what they are. The other night I noticed a little teeny bug crawling on the bed. I smooshed it and was like ew, whatever. One bug - random.

Last night I saw two more. OK - definitely a problem. My skin starts crawling... I'm itchy all over. I found more on my pillows that were on the floor. There are bugs infesting my bed and my pillows. Nice, huh?

I tried washing everything... put the stuff back on the bed... more bugs. I did not sleep last night. I kept checking Kyla while she was sleeping to make sure nothing was crawling on her. We have no bites. They are not "bed bugs". They are TINY gray bugs. They are not fleas - I have seen fleas before and they are definitely not fleas.

I keep my house clean just FYI... we have cleaning people that come every week and do the sheets, vacuum, etc... so it isn't like I live in a sty.

They are TINY TINY TINY little specks and they crawl. Any idea what they could be? I had pest control come over and of course - not a single bug to be found... which makes me think they are nocturnal little f*ckers.

I am so pissed off - this is the last thing I need to deal with. It's funny - all through college I always had the messiest rooms and NEVER EVER EVER had any bugs... now that I pay people to clean the house, we get bugs. How does that make sense?

So now I don't know what to do. I am so freaked out - and overtired because I didn't even sleep last night... I have to go to WalMart and get some pillow covers and laundry detergent, diapers, and a ton of other stuff... Now I feel lke there are bugs everywhere.

I think that since the patio door in our bedroom leaks when it rains that they are breeding in the damp carpet or something... I have no idea. All I know is that I am not sleeping here until this place is bug free. I can't handle it.

Thanks and have a creepy crawly day.

And no, this is not just a creepy Halloween is almost here I'm going to freak you out story - it's real.

Dana

Maybe you can get those little circular trap things that bugs crawl in so you don't have to see them anymore? We had an ant problem at my old apartment and those seemed to work really well, plus they're pretty small so they don't make the place look like you're infested or anything.

I had a mosquito problem in the room at the end of the summer and ended up spraying that "off" stuff on my sheets and around my bed. Worked pretty well to keep the bugs from biting, but it smells icky. As for Kyla's room, maybe try one of those "off" plug-ins that are supposed to be scent-less. That way they'll stay out of there.

Maybe someone else local knows what those darn things are and has a better idea how to stop them from crawling everywhere. No wonder it makes your skin crawl!

    Good luck!

Hey Dana...this Amanda, Jessica's friend. About your bug prob. First of all, sorry! I can not stand bugs, they freak me out and I get that creepy crawly feeling on my skin too (you, living in a roach area, (I live in Vegas) have to deal with yucky things!). It sounds like either bed bugs or (*sorry*) lice...which doesn't mean your house is dirty or anything, because even if one little bug gets in they multiply like mother f-ers! I hope you get it figured out and can finally rest in your own home!

    Amanda :)

Dana, I thought I would calm your fears from the last post. They are NOT Lice. Lice do not live long UNLESS they are on a human head. (head lice) They can only survive by sucking human blood. They do not live on pillows, sheets or stuffed animals, despite what others may think. Body lice need human blood too. So they are not lice. You would be finding those in your hair, and most likely, not be able to see many of the actual bugs, as the nits (eggs) are what people usually get tons of, and not the actual bugs. Just wanted to ease your fears. I know a lot about this because I have children and have had to deal with lice in my neighborhood. I know it sounds gross, but just wanted to educate you and your readers. :)

Dana, are they little teensy ants, almost too small to see? If so these are called "pharoah" ants or sugar ants, and you can get bait for them. The brand to look for is called MaxForce. It takes about a week for the bait to work but it keeps them away for a long time. Do a search on the internet for MaxForce and pharoah ants and you can find a mail-order source if your local hardware store doesn't have the stuff. It's what my exterminator uses but you can buy it direct.
